ABOUT

MISSION AND HISTORY

Libbey's Chemo Kits began with the cancer diagnosis of my Aunt Terry and knowing how she felt during the process of treatment.  Chemotherapy  is a type of cancer treatment that uses drugs to destroy cancer cells which may have different side effects for many people.  Some treatments and medical processes can be long and others short.  In my mind, Chemo was such an ugly word because of the side effects I witnessed with my Aunt's treatment.  The love and help from my Aunt and my love in serving others resulted in Libbey's Chemo Kits.  I wanted to create something  to encourage those on their journey through chemotherapy.

The first step: Redefine the "ugly "word Chemo (Caring Helpers, Enjoy Making Others happy).

The second step:  Met with my Aunt for ideas on what to place in each kit to meet the need of all patients.

The third step: Be creative with each kit to represent love.

Because of her love and passion to serve others, My aunt Terry founded Teachers Fighting Cancer of America, which was a nonprofit organization that promoted wellness of health through preventive care. Sadly, my Aunt Terry passed away in July 2016. Her example to be loyal to your community and strong spiritually will forever live with me and my family. I will continue to share the priceless gift of serving in honor and memory of my Aunt Terry.

Libbey's Chemo Kits have been delivered to over 300 people at hospital oncology centers in Shreveport and in McKinney, Texas.  Every item is handpicked and prepackaged for safety and wrapped in love.  With your help, we can encourage so many others on their journey though chemotherapy!  Thank you for the love and support!!!!
